How We Keep Your Pet Comfortable

We want to end the stigma that pet's don't enjoy going to the vet, so we've found multiple ways to keep your pet comfortable while in our care.

At Brook Farm Veterinary Center we go out of our way to help pet’s and their owners feel comfortable. We want to end the stigma of pet’s being scared or anxious about going to the vet. The love we feel for animals drives us to do our best - we’re not afraid to roll around on the ground with a new patient and bad puppy breath does not scare us away! Today and everyday we are proud to be AAHA accredited. As an AAHA-accredited facility we devote time, energy, and resources to ensure that your pet receives the best care.  We pride ourselves on having friendly, caring staff, because they are the heart of our business. With each interaction you’re sure to speak to a true animal lover. You can trust our team to take care of every detail and make you feel right at home.  Our practice is thorough, responsive, sanitary, and safe.  We use low-stress handling techniques with a fear free approach. We’ve modified our procedures, handling and our facilities to help your pet feel most safe and comfortable when they’re receiving care at Brook Farm.

What do we do to help keep your pet comfortable:

Pet Appeasing Pheromones:

Scentless pheromones are used throughout Brook Farm in order to help pets feel safe and secure when encountering potentially stressful situations. These pheromones promote a sense of safety for pets by synthetically mimicking the scent their mothers emitted at birth.

Specialized Training:

Our staff receives regular training on Fear Free techniques and handling in order to ensure that we evolve as new research develops.  We also create a relaxing environment by using calming colors and soft lighting wherever possible.

A Gentle Touch:

We may initially avoid eye contact with your pet and focus on you instead in order to avoid intimidation.  During your pet’s exam, we may use gentle pressure to soothe your pet by using a towel or a compression garment.

Lots of Treats:

With your permission of course, we will give your pet lots of treats to keep them happy and distracted during their

Animal Lovers:

At Brook Farm we are all animal lovers, so your pet will be treated as if they are our own.

Combining all of the above will certainly help ease your pet's anxiety, especially when visiting the vet for the first time.  At Brook Farm, we're a big family and we welcome you with open arms.
