Our Commitment to Equity and Inclusion

Proud to be an inclusive place for all.

It is our deepest wish that there will come a day when our position on racism and discrimination can go without saying, but for now, we must state it clearly and without any room for discussion. Racism and discrimination will never be tolerated here. We have a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination of any kind, hate speech or any other racist acts. This includes with our employees, our clients, and anyone we do business with.

We take pride in the diversity of our community, knowing that the combination of our different backgrounds and perspectives can only make it stronger. We stand together in creating a safe, welcoming environment for all. As an accredited hospital, we achieve high standards in veterinary medicine, and we are committed to setting an even higher standard when it comes to respect, inclusion, and togetherness.

We are dedicated to supporting folx who are queer, trans, non-binary, Black, Indigenous, people of color, disabled, parents, are/have been system-impacted, are immigrants, and anyone who has experienced systemic oppression and/or are underrepresented in the industry. We welcome feedback that allows us to better cultivate a welcoming and inclusive environment.
In the spirit of truth and equity, it is with gratitude and humility that we acknowledge that we are gathered on the sacred homelands of the Paugussett, Wappinger, Munsee Lenape, and Schaghticoke people, who are the original stewards of the land. Today, due to forced removal, the community resides in Connecticut (Paugussett and Schaghticoke) and Oklahoma (Munseee Lenape).

We honor and pay respect to their ancestors past and present, as well as to future generations, and we recognize their continuing presence in their homelands. We understand that our acknowledgment requires those of us who are settlers to recognize our own place in and responsibilities toward addressing inequity, and that this ongoing and challenging work requires that we commit to real engagement with the these communities to build an inclusive and equitable space for all.
